Plants and trees are our natural capital. They are fundamental to life on earth, offering food, medicine and shelter. They also sequester carbon, fight pollution and bind the soil. The solution to catastrophic events like wildfires, floods and pandemics lies in restoring green cover and restoring the balance in nature.
Planting a tree you are doing something great for the environment! Everyone should plant at least one tree in his or her lifetime.

Which trees do we plant?
We plant walnut trees. It takes 5-7 years for walnut trees to start bearing fruit. In order to finance the cost of tree maintenance in the long term, it is necessary to plan trees that are strong and produce high-value fruits, that the proceeds of their sale will cover the maintenance costs, year after year.
Walnuts are the leading tree nut consumed in rapidly developing medium income countries (especially China), with a 27% market share. In the last 10 years world walnut consumption has grown by more than 50%.
We grow walnuts in Asturias, Spain
Asturias’s climate is ideal for walnut production. Walnuts need 700-1300 hours of cold sub-45°F (7°C) temperatures to reach their full potential. With an average of 1300 hours over the last decade, even future climate change leaves Asturias as a prime planting location for walnut growers.
Asturias has an abundant water supply as well. With plenty of abundant rivers and aquifers, in Asturias walnut growers have ample access to the large quantities of water needed by a walnut orchard.
